This Privacy Policy explains how the Local AI mobile application (the "App") handles your information.

Summary

Local AI does not require account creation, and it does not send your conversations to our servers or any third party. AI generation happens on your device. Your prompts, chats, and generated responses stay on your device. The App does collect anonymous usage analytics and crash reports and fetches app configuration and model download URLs from our servers, as described below. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data removes your locally stored chats and preferences from your Device.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require you to create an account or sign in.
• We do not collect, store, or transmit your chat content. Conversations are stored only in local storage on your Device.
• We do not process your prompts or AI responses on our servers. All AI generation runs on-device.

Information We May Process

To deliver and maintain the App, limited technical information may be handled:

App Configuration. On launch, the App fetches non-personal configuration (such as the list of available on-device models, messages, and feature flags) from our servers. These requests include basic technical metadata (such as app version, platform, and device model).

Model Downloads. On-device models are downloaded from both our in-house servers and third-party model hosts (such as Hugging Face).

Analytics and Crash Reports. We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google LLC, to collect anonymous usage data and crash reports. This may include device information (such as device model and operating system version) and crash traces with device state at the time of a crash. Given the immaturity of on-device LLM inference, this performance data is required so we can have good insight into how the app is behaving in the wild and continuously fine-tune the performance and models for you.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, and the "Last Updated" date above will be revised.
